Warm-Up Session: The Routine-30 Minutes for YOU!

Dr. Ryan Stransky is currently serving as Instructor of Music-Brass at Alcorn State University in Lorman, Mississippi. Dr. Stransky completed his DMA in Trumpet Performance at the University of Southern California under Tom Hooten and Jen Marotta, MM in Trumpet Performance from Temple University under Tony Prisk, and BM in Trumpet Performance from the University of Minnesota under Dr. David Baldwin. 
 
He completed a major field in Music Teaching and Learning, a minor field in Instrumental Conducting, and a minor field in Baroque Trumpet/Early Music. He has done extensive research on these fields, and was fortunate enough to be selected as a presenter at the 2022 North American Baroque Trumpet Competition and Conference in Lexington, KY and at the 2022 Early Brass Festival in Northfield, MN.
 
He is active in research regarding trumpet pedagogy and creativity in the trumpet lesson. He has an article to be published in the ITG Journal (March 2023) regarding his observations and engagements with the trumpet section of the Alcorn State University Marching Band. 
 
Dr. Stransky is an active member and affiliated with The Honor Society, Pi Kappa Lambda, the International Trumpet Guild, the Historic Brass Society, and the Musical Arts League of Natchez. He is currently serving as a Board Member of the Natchez Festival of Music, and he is a proud recipient of the Mississippi Arts Commission Individual Artist Mini-Grant in Fall 2022.
