Javier Gonzalez is a freelance trumpet player in the greater Los Angeles area. Born and raised in Los Angeles he earned his Bachelor of Music and Master’s in Fine Arts degrees from The California Institute of the Arts.
Along with his formal studies, Javier began developing his innovative trumpet lead pipe method. Expanding on traditional lead pipe playing Javier has developed a method that allows him to connect the pedal registers to the extreme upper registers in a seamless manner.
Since 2016, Javier has been principal trumpet and a member of the orchestrating team for the house band on “Dancing with the Stars.” The musical styles vary from jazz, pop, Latin, film score, orchestral, and many other genres. Additionally, he has performed on the popular TV series American Idol and the Voice where he’s had many opportunities to perform with Grammy Award-winning and nominated artists like Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Aretha Franklin, Patti Labelle, Quincy Jones, Tony Bennet, Harry Connick Jr., David Foster, Michael Bublé, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Gloria Estefan, Ricky Martin, Chaka Khan, Shania Twain, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, Finneas O’Connell, Alicia Keys, Katy Perry, Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Clarkson, Josh Groban, Usher, Gwen Stefani, Blake Sheldon, Pharrell Williams, Nicki Minaj, Robin Thick, Keith Urban, Adam Levine, Lionel Richie, CeeLo Green, Steven Tyler, Shawn Mendes, Jordan Smith, Randy Jackson, Enrique Iglesias, Placido Domingo, Andrea Bocelli, Johnny Mathis, Frankie Valli and many others.
Javier performs at the Hollywood Pantages, Dolby Theater, and Pasadena Playhouse for various Broadway musical engagements.
Javier has also performed/recorded on popular tv series, Award shows, and films that include The Simpsons, The Orville, The Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, James Corden, Grammy Awards, Latin Grammy Awards, American Music Awards, BET Awards, Emmy Awards, Billboard Awards, La La Land (on-screen cameo), Coco, Encanto, Fool’s Paradise, and others.
