New Works
The 51st Annual International Trumpet Guild Conference
Lexington, KY (USA)
Applications are open from June 15, 2026, to August 31, 2026.
The ITG New Works Committee invites composers and performers to submit trumpet-focused compositions for a New Works Recital at the 2027 ITG Conference in Lexington, Kentucky, from May 18–22, 2027. To be eligible, pieces must prominently feature the trumpet in a recital-appropriate role, have been composed within the last five years, and be un-premiered. While there are no instrumentation restrictions, unusual setups or durations may present logistical challenges for the committee.
Applicants may submit multiple pieces separately, either individually as a composer or in partnership with a performer. However, to maximize participation, individuals are limited to one featured role as either a composer or performer per year. If a composer applies alone, the committee will select a trumpeter for the piece, and all final performer choices remain at the committee’s discretion.
An ITG Conference staff pianist will be supplied on a needs basis. Composers or performers must source and fund any additional instrumentalists. Selected performers are responsible for all personal expenses, including mandatory conference registration and performance recording fees, if desired. Digital submissions must include a PDF of the score and an unedited recording or MP3 MIDI file, as email submissions are no longer accepted. The committee will review all entries and notify applicants of the results by October 20, 2026. For questions, please contact the New Works Chair.
