Jovan Savić

Jovan started playing trumpet at the age of 11 in the music school “Josip Slavenski” in Belgrade, where he gained primary and secondary musical education. In 2002, he started studies at the Belgrade Faculty of Music, University of Arts, with Prof. Mladen Djordjević. During the education period, he participated in several international competitions and won prizes in numerous national competitions. During studies also played in the National Youth Orchestra “ Borislav Pašćan” and Deutsche-Scandinavische Jugend Philharmonie.
Further educational development gains through masterclasses and lessons with world-renowned teachers and players, such as Eric Aubier, Friedrich Reinhold, Luis Gonzales Marti, and Jan Fr. Christiansen.
From 2005, part-time membership started at the Belgrade National Theatre Opera and Ballet Orchestra and the Belgrade Radio and Television Orchestra. From 2008 until 2011, Jovan was a full-time member of the Belgrade Radio and Television symphony orchestra, where he served as principal trumpet, and in 2011, he joined the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra.
Jovan appeared as soloist with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, National Youth Orchestra, Serbian Ministry of Defense Symphony Orchestra, Royal strings “St. George”, and “Belgrade Baroque”.
As a chamber musician, played with ensembles for contemporary and baroque music across the country and abroad.
Together with colleagues from the Belgrade Philharmonic, has founded the “BrassSense” brass quintet.
