Dr. Emily Tourgeman completed her DMA at UT Austin, under the tutelage of Caleb Hudson. She pursued her undergraduate dual degrees in Music Education and Trumpet Performance with Phil Snedecor at the Hartt School, and earned her Master’s degree in Orchestral Trumpet performance at Mannes College with Mark Gould. Emily has attended the Chosen Vale Seminar, Atlantic Brass Quintet seminar, Pierre Monteux festival, and won the top prize in the IWBC Mock Orchestra audition competition as well as first prize in the Yamaha Large Ensemble Division of the National Trumpet Competition with her arrangement of Danse Macabre. She has performed with the Richardson Symphony, Staten Island Philharmonic, Lone Star Wind Orchestra, and Colorado Bach Ensemble.
Emily currently serves as a research assistant for the International Trumpet Research Center and has recently been appointed to the faculty at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas.
