David Vuković

Piano

David Vuković (b. 1996 in Čakovec) is a Croatian pianist who began studying piano at age ten. He continued his education in Varaždin, where he also studied music theory, organ, and solo singing. He graduated summa cum laude from the Zagreb Academy of Music in 2021, in the class of prof. Đorđe Stanetti, and spent the 2018/19 academic year in Vienna at the Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität as an Erasmus+ scholar.

He is a laureate of numerous national and international competitions, including multiple first prizes at HDGPP competitions (solo and piano duo), the HDS Special Prize at the EPTA competition in Osijek, and two first prizes at the Jurica Murai Memorial. He also received the Rector’s Award for his performance of Beethoven’s 4th Piano Concerto with the Zagreb Philharmonic, the “Krajanski” Award of HGM Varaždin, and has performed as a soloist with major Croatian ensembles.

As a chamber musician, he was a member of Trio Eusebius (2017–2023), alongside violinist Eva Šulić and cellist Tonka Javorović, mentored by Prof. Pavle Zajcev. The trio earned top prizes at competitions including Ferdo Livadić and Papandopulo, and performed at leading festivals such as the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, Osor Musical Evenings, MBZ, Korkyra Baroque, and others.

Vuković currently teaches piano, accompaniment, and chamber music at the Varaždin Music School and works as a piano assistant at the University North. He also collaborates regularly with the Croatian National Theatre in Varaždin as a répétiteur and orchestral pianist.
