Con Voce Fesitva

Recital

Alejandra Sandoval, soprano, and Alexander Freund, trumpet, have captivated audiences with their dynamic performances since 2012. Known as “Con Voce Festiva,” the duo has developed an extensive repertoire, performing with piano, organ, harpsichord, continuo, symphony orchestras, and brass quintets.

Their collaboration began with original arias for soprano and trumpet by composers like Scarlatti, Bach, and Handel, eventually expanding to include Lieder by Rachmaninoff and Strauss, as well as selections of Zarzuela and traditional Mexican canciones. Celebrating the symbiotic blend of voice, trumpet, and flugelhorn, Sandoval and Freund infuse cross-cultural richness from their native countries into their performances.

Sandoval, a renowned opera singer and voice pedagogue, and Freund, a professor at Georgia State University, member of the Atlanta Opera Orchestra, and of M5 Mexican Brass, perform internationally, giving around ten concerts together each year.
