Rupert Čunko

Rupert Čunko (1995, Varaždin) graduated from percussion at the Zagreb Academy of Music, in the class of Professor Igor Lešnik.
He participated in international competitions in Croatia, Italy, Slovenia, and Serbia, where he won first prizes in solo and chamber categories.
Čunko has appeared with professional orchestras and ensembles, including: The Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb Orchestra, The Croatian Radiotelevision Symphony Orchestra, The Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, the Zagreb Soloists, the Croatian Chamber Orchestra, the Varaždin Chamber Orchestra, the Zadar Chamber Orchestra, the Croatian Baroque Ensemble, the Minstrel Renaissance Ensemble, the Capella Zriniana Renaissance Ensemble, and as a member of the Cravat Regiment guard of honor at Croatian Armed Forces, with whom he has performedseveral times in Croatia and abroad at famous festivals.
He taught percussion at numerous music schools in Croatia and is currently acting as a percussion mentor-volunteer in El Sistema Croatia. He is a member of the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, where, in addition to being an orchestral musician, he also acts as a chamber musician in the Zagreb Philharmonic Percussion Trio ensemble.
