Venezuela 7/4

Concert

Ensamble 7/4 is a groundbreaking trumpet-led septet that fuses jazz, Latin, classical,  and Venezuelan folk traditions in original arrangements, newly commissioned works,  and well-known classics. Featuring four trumpets, Venezuelan cuatro, double bass, and drums, the group reinvents the possibilities of the trumpet quartet format by  expanding its range, texture, and stylistic versatility.

Formally established in 2010, the group originated as a student trumpet quartet in  Venezuela around 2005 and evolved into a full-scale ensemble dedicated to  reimagining the role of brass in popular and traditional music. Driven by a shared  vision to explore Venezuelan music through a new lens, Ensamble 7/4 developed a  signature sound—one that has captivated audiences worldwide at major festivals,  conferences, and prestigious venues, including the Berliner Philharmonie and Walt  Disney Concert Hall.

They have released five albums, earned four Silver Medals from the Global Music  Awards, and have premiered genre-busting works written specifically for them by a  new generation of Latin American composers. Ensamble 7/4 has shared the stage  with legends such as James Morrison, Allen Vizzutti, Arturo Sandoval, Thomas  Gansch, Rex Richardson, Andrea Tofanelli, Gábor Tarkövi, Pacho Flores, Canadian  Brass, and Gustavo Dudamel. Currently based in Florida, 7/4 delivers electrifying,  fully memorized performances infused with choreography and humor—pushing  trumpet chamber music to new artistic heights.
