A dynamic and innovative performer, Briana Gillet is a French-American trumpet player based in Salt Lake City, Utah. An advocate for interdisciplinary collaboration, Briana seeks to create performances that redefine how audiences and performers experience music in cross-medium settings. In a recent collaboration, Briana co-created a project that integrated music, circus arts, and film into a live performance setting, serving as an artistic platform for environmental activism. Briana is a founding member of the Bridger Brass Quintet and performs with the NYC-based Chrysalis Rock Orchestra. In 2023, she competed in the National Trumpet Competition’s Graduate Solo division. Briana is a student of Dr. Peyden Shelton at the University of Utah, pursuing a DMA in Trumpet Performance. She earned her Master of Music degree in 2021 from Shenandoah Conservatory under the guidance of Mary Elizabeth Bowden and her bachelor’s degree in 2019 from Montana State University, studying with Dr. Sarah Stoneback.
