Tony Kadleck
Session
Trumpeter Tony Kadleck has been freelancing for four decades, and is one of the most sought-after trumpet players in the NYC area. While attending the New England Conservatory and the Manhattan School of Music, Kadleck studied both classical and jazz music, an effort that would benefit him throughout his career. In 1986, Tony joined the trumpet section of the Buddy Rich Band, and later that year moved to New York.
Kadleck has toured with Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, and Blood, Sweat & Tears. Eventually, the NYC studios kept Tony too busy to leave town, where he found himself recording with a number of artists including Luther Vandross, Michael Jackson, Elton John, Natalie Merchant, and Santana. Kadleck has also played a wide variety of live concerts, having performed with Stevie Wonder, Ella Fitzgerald, Issac Hayes and The Boston Pops. More recently, he has performed with Steely Dan, The Who, Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga, and the NY Philharmonic.
In addition to playing countless jingles, for many films, and on over 50 Broadway shows, Kadleck has also done a great deal of composing and arranging. The Tony Kadleck Big Band released “Around the Horn” in 2014. Their recent recording, “Sides,” features nine of Tony’s arrangements for big band and strings. Kadleck is a member of many organizations including the Maria Schneider Orchestra, the New York Pops, and John Pizzarelli’s Swing Seven. He is on the faculty at Temple University.
