Dr. Brennan Rudy enjoys a multi-faceted career as an educator, performer, and author. Brennan is the founder of the Washington, D.C. based brass trio, Halcyon Brass, and he completed his Doctor of Musical Arts (2024) and Master of Music (2021) degrees at University of Maryland, where he studied with Chris Gekker. Brennan is particularly passionate about new music for the trumpet, seeking methods to bridge our application of pedagogy across historical music and music of the 21st Century. Brennan can be heard on his recent album, 21st Century American Trumpet Sonatas, which was released by Centaur Records in 2025 and awarded the Silver Medal from Global Music Awards.
