Andy Lott
Session
Andy Lott has been Principal Trumpet of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic since 2015. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Trumpet Performance from Baylor University in 2012 where he was a student of Wiff Rudd and a member of the first Baylor Trumpet Ensemble to win 1st place at the National Trumpet Competition. He received his Master’s Degree from Indiana University where he was a student of John Rommel and served as the Associate Instructor of Trumpet. He has performed with the Cleveland Orchestra, the Pittsburgh Symphony, the Indianapolis Symphony, the Houston Symphony, the Nashville Symphony, the Fort Worth Symphony, the Columbus Symphony and many more. He can also be heard on studio recordings for Disney and hundreds of sample recordings for Hal Leonard. In 2021, Andy joined Conn Selmer to oversee the Bach, Conn and KING lines of trumpets, cornets and flugelhorns as High Brass Product Manager. He designed all the new Bach 190 Series Bb and C trumpets while collaborating with top Bach Artists. In 2023 he started his own company Musical Instrument Technologies and designed more instruments for Conn Selmer and developed the Lott Assembly System for Trumpet which included all the fixtures and jigs needed to assemble a trumpet. Most of his designs are now in use in the Bach factory building the trumpets he previously designed. He is also an authorized dealer for Conn Selmer to sell the instruments he helped design.
Joey Tartell
Session
Joey Tartell is a professor of music in trumpet and chair of the Brass Department at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. He has toured and recorded with Maynard Ferguson, the Woody Herman Orchestra, and the U.S. Army’s Jazz Ambassadors. Mr. Tartell’s other recordings include the Buselli/Wallarab Jazz Orchestra, Birch Creek Music Performing Center, and Doug Lawrence Orchestra. He has also performed with the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra, the Count Basie Orchestra, and the Glenn Miller Orchestra. As a freelance artist, Mr. Tartell has backed up such artists as Doc Severinsen, Aretha Franklin, Don Henley, Manhattan Transfer, Barry Manilow, and Arturo Sandoval. He has recorded for the Bob and Tom Show, Orange Bowl Halftime and Parade, Chicago Tribune, Electronic Arts, Konami, and Williams Gaming. He was a student of Gil Johnson, Barbara Butler, Mel Broiles, and Vince DiMartino.
