Dontae Winslow & WinslowDynasty are rising stars in the music industry. The new album entitled Enter The Dynasty is an eclectic mix of straight ahead jazz, blues, funk, and hip-hop soul. This Album went to #1 on Amazon Top Sellers, #2 on iTunes Billboard Feb 2014. The project includes amazing guests artists: Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, Roy Hargrove, Mashica Winslow, Jedi, Dennis Chambers, Antonio Hart, and jazz piano legend Chick Corea. Dontae was trained in music at the formidable Baltimore School for the Arts high school. In four years, he attained a Bachelors and Masters degree in Classical Music Performance from the Peabody Conservatory of the John’s Hopkins University.

As a Songwriter/Composer/Music Producer Dontae wrote the opening orchestral fanfare to the #1 Billboard Compton Album form the Movie Soundtrack “Straight Outta Compton” and has worked with Jay-Z, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar Mary Mary. Dontae is an in demand studio musician in Los Angeles and his currently working in the Studio with Dr. Dre on the soundtrack for his new movie “Straight Outta Compton”. As Trumpeter he is featured on the #1 Song by Aloe Blacc “I’m the Man” and playing the theme to the hit TV series the #HavesandHavenots by Tyler Perry on OWN. In 2012 Dontae composed the score for the Robert Townsend film “In The Hive” starring Oscar winner Michael Clarke Duncan, Loretta Divine, and Vivica Fox. He has also performed in the house bands for BetAWARDS, American Idol, The Voice, BETHONORS, The Image Awards, and was a judge in the 2015 NAACP ACT-SO Competition for composition.

As a member of the Justin Timberlake’s TNKids Band he travelled and performed on 6 continents with the 2020 Experience World Tour, one of the biggest tours of the decade grossing over 231 million dollars. Dontae also runs a non-profit in Baltimore City with is wife Mashica called Music Motivating Minds which exposes the cites youth to Art, Music, Goal Setting, and Cultural Enrichment. After winning the John Lennon international songwriting competition for Children’s music in 2002 Dontae moved to LA. In 2003, Mr. Winslow was awarded a full-fellowship to the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz at USC, where he studied with film composer Terence Blanchard, and string arranger Jeremy Lubbock. In 2012 Dontae was awarded the Young Maestro Award from The Peabody Conservatory of The Johns Hopkins University.

Dontae has toured with: Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, Jill Scott, Queen Latifah, Common, D’Angelo, Christina Aguilera, Lauryn Hill, and Snoop Dogg. He designed his own custom trumpet the “Winslowdynasty A6 Model” by Adams Instruments and was featured on  the cover of AVUE, their international magazine. In addition Dontae is a jazz improvisation, music production and performance clinician for such esteemed institutions as The Berklee School of Music, The Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz, The Los Angeles Unified School District, The Baltimore School for the Arts, and The Peabody Conservatory of The Johns Hopkins University.
