David Sneider

2021 Carmine Caruso Jazz Competition Winner – Recital: The Beauty of Space

David Sneider is a jazz trumpet player and composer who is currently pursuing his Masters at the Juilliard School. He is the 1st place winner of both the 2021 Carmine Caruso Competition and the 2019 National Trumpet Competition. In addition, he is a previous member of the prestigious Stamps Jazz Quintet at the Frost School of Music. The son of a jazz trumpet player and opera singer, Sneider has been immersed in the New York music scene his whole life. He has worked as a sideman with legendary musicians such as Dom Salvador and Ulysses Owens, and he has recorded music with Joel Frahm and Larry Goldings. With the bassist Miles Gilbert, Sneider has an album called “The Taxter Factor”, which explores both original compositions and jazz standards. Sneider also has an EP entitled “Playing For No-One” in which he plays all instruments—trumpet, melodica and piano.
