Warm-Up Session: Awaken the Music: Warm-Up Focused on Sound and Music

Musician 2nd Class Carrie Blosser (she/her) is a trumpet instrumentalist with Navy Band Northwest in Silverdale, Washington. Before moving to Washington, Blosser was a member of the Navy Band Great Lakes in Chicago, Illinois, and the U.S. Fleet Forces Band in Norfolk, VA. She performs in groups such as Rock Band, Brass Quintet, Ceremonial Band, and Wind Ensemble. She annually plays over 100 concerts for military, community, and diplomatic ceremonies.

Blosser is the co-chair and founding member of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee with the International Trumpet Guild (ITG). She is an active member of the International Women’s Brass Conference (IWBC) and the IWBC newsletter’s production editor. Blosser is the National Trumpet Competition Coordinator and serves on the board of directors. She is also a co-founder of Diversify the Stand and Calypsus Brass.

Blosser received her B.S. in Music Ed from Messiah College, M.M. in Music Education and Trumpet Performance from the University of Northern Colorado, and D.M.A in Brass Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Colorado-Boulder.
