Tasmanian-based, Australian trumpeter Scott Tinkler has been performing since 1983 and is well known for his many brilliant incarnations as an ensemble player, composer, soloist and recording artist. 

Scott has composed upwards of 50 original works for the AAO, his Quartet, Trio, Drub, and Antripodean Collective. He has performed and recorded with leading artists such as Branford Marsalis, Paul Grabowsky, Joe Lovano, Betty Carter, Tim Berne, Jim Black, Han Bennink, Guru Kaaraikkudi Mani, Mark Simmonds, Mike Nock, Bernie McGann, Simon Barker, John Rogers, Tony Buck. Soloist with ensembles; AAO; Melbourne, Queensland, Adelaide Symphony Orchestras, Elision, London Sinfonietta. Throughout Tinkler’s career he has been interested in not only exploring and developing improvised music stemming from jazz, but also other forms of music and the cultures they come from. This has led to musical collaborations with Indian and Korean musicians, as well as with indigenous musicians from Australia including Archie Roach and Ruby Hunter and songmen from Ngukurr.
